Actionable Take - Episode 3
Week ending December 6, 2025
Thanks for checking out the recording and show notes.
I have changed the format of the Actionable Take Livestreams following their re-launch.
These Livestreams are now:
- Shorter: no longer than 2 hours;
- Each Actionable Take is on only ONE topic; and
- More interactive with an open discussion throughout and especially at the end; and
- While the livestreams will continue to be available to the general public to take part in, the recordings will only be available to paid members through either this website or the private community.
Sign up as a paid member for $5 a month
Sign up as a paid member for $50 a year and get two months free
Sign up as a paid member of the Private Community for $5 a month or $50 a year and get two months free
This is where the video is available to watch for paid members. If you are signed-in to your member account and still can't see it, it means you need to upgrade to a paid subscription through one of the options above.
I did the Livestream on Saturday December 6 (Australian Eastern Standard Time). Here is how the front page of the Sunday edition of the biggest newspaper in my home state of Queensland (owned by News Corp) looked the following morning:

The mass rollout of social media coincided with a sharp drop in the mental wellbeing of young Australians. These figures are from my article with Steve Robson: https://t.co/hGUY9qgluh

"Papers please" schemes to access the Internet rollout in perfect lockstep
Remember that word "LOCKSTEP"?

Australia is leading the charge

Today, we have officially banned social media accounts for under 16s. pic.twitter.com/9Ap5mZfNoq

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has recorded a video message for Australian teenagers, urging them to make the most of the upcoming social media ban.

Our social media delay for children under the age of sixteen starts tomorrow.

This is a big deal.
We're the first country in the world to ever do this.
What this is about is protecting our kids and giving them a bit more time before they’re dealing with the cesspit of social… pic.twitter.com/mgZMPeb4VC

Strong opposition is coming from places you wouldn't intuitively expect
Australia's 'leader' of the "Opposition" had to say this back in June:
Opposition Leader Sussan Ley said “parents need government” to protect their children from the dangers of social media — moments after opening her speech by saying the Liberal Party is at its best when government is “better, not bigger.” pic.twitter.com/R3j8FLjtLx
— Australians vs. The Agenda (@ausvstheagenda) June 25, 2025
Her stance hasn't changed much but at least the "shadow" communication minister is not singing to exactly the same tune:
We are 7 days out from the social media ban. Today in her press club speech, the Minister accused me of dog whistling because I have raised the fact about digital ID being required, and questioned the government’s handling of this new law.

Interestingly, some of the strongest and most consistent opposition to the imminent ban is coming from the (far) left side of politics:
When a member of what is effectively Australia's COMMUNIST party is one of the only politicians making sense, you know something is seriously wrong https://t.co/mTrWwHHoC3

There are even some morons who make a point reminding this Greens Senator to keep quiet and stick to the talking points as to not help the "conservatives".
This is why the Greens will never be any better than it is now. Trying to destroy Labor for its own ends. Instead of increasing your seats you just ensure conservative seats. Another Max ey?

Some people will only stop playing the (utterly NONSENSICAL) political 'sides' game when they are locked up in the Digital Gulag....or DEAD!
Other jurisdictions joining soon...or already have!
The UK is prime example
We need to protect our kids by banning social media for under 16s.

Universally popular, basically free and deliverable immediately.
Let’s get on with it. https://t.co/svQmM9q2pS
Other jurisdictions are not far behind
Delighted that our blueprint to help keep children safe online has just passed in the European Parliament. A major step forward in supporting parents, strengthening protections, and putting young people first. Proud to have played a part in shaping this important work @EPPGroup pic.twitter.com/twBgQpSlcX

Platforms prepare to clamp down

Existing X Premium accounts with blue checkmarks have already undergone ID verification, which typically confirms age. Based on current info, X may use this for Australia's age rules starting Dec 10, 2025, without forcing re-verification or logout. However, X hasn't detailed its…

Next stop: Digital ID
That locomotive is not stopping for anyone
Here too Australia is leading the charge
Once all other "age verification/assurance" methods fail (BY DESIGN as nobodystakee says very astutely in the above video) we know what is going to remain as the ONLY option...because we've already been told that in no uncertain terms:
And in the future, other places too
At least it will be "voluntary", right?

We understand how this works now, YES?
If you still don't, this should bring you up to speed:
India (the I in BRICS) has been there for close to a DECADE now
Here is an interview I did back in May with Paul Conlon who researched this topic very deeply for his book:
Other jurisdictions (like the US) are 'onboarding' as we speak
Starting May 7, you will need a Real ID to fly. Real IDs make identification harder to forge, thwarting criminals and terrorists. If you plan to fly, make sure you get a Real ID so you won’t be denied from your flight or face travel delays!https://t.co/rmP0renGHs pic.twitter.com/f92iT0uygA

So much for "think different" I guess...
I'm sure I don't need to explain here again what are the dangers of Digital ID and what comes after that but if you need a quick recap of the unique threats of the biometric data being collected by these schemes, you can find it here.
So what do we do now?
And what is not an option...
Let's start with:
What NOT to do?
Run away
These numbnuts chose to run away to the UK of all places...

Use a VPN as the first (or only) measure of resistance/non-compliance
I am not entirely against using a VPN but there are things that need to happen FIRST.
Without doing the above FIRST, it's basically the equivalent of simply choosing to get a fake "vaccine passport"/proof of "vaccination".
What is the RIGHT response?
To start with: make fun of the enemy
Laughter is good for the soul!
ABANDON any social media platform which chooses to comply
This is the video that help me cement the above tactic in my head (the specific point where this was mentioned is starting from 3:48 minutes in):
Support ANY effort to decentralise the Internet
The current state of affairs is not sustainable and cannot continue.

As I said in the above clip and also during the Livestream, the Internet was originally designed to be resilient (but not secure!) and one of the most important aspects which was supposed to enable such resilience was decentralisation.
The Internet was designed to be built around PROTOCOLS rather than around huge platforms which have come to dominate it, especially following the tech crash of the early 2000s.
It is time to get back to that!
One protocol which I am able to tap into directly and without intermediaries because I chose to use Ghost as the software on which this website runs is called ActivityPub and here is what it's about:
ActivityPub is the protocol on which what's called the Fediverse is running. The Fediverse is NOT a single platform but rather various services which all share the same protocol (being ActivityPub):
Another service worth highlighting is Session:
In very simple terms, you can think of Session as a decentralised version of the instant messenger Signal.
Signal runs on the Signal Protocol which is open source. This allowed the team behind Session to improve on it in several key aspects:
- It runs on a decentralised network making it much more difficult to shut down;
- It improves significantly on the encryption provided by Signal itself; and
- It doesn't keep ANY information on its users (not even a phone number like Signal used to do until very recently) and this is BY DESIGN and cannot be changed...EVER!
This video will teach you everything you will need to know to start using Session fairly confidently:
I have been using Session myself for well over two years now and can't recommend it highly enough.
I am however not 'married' to it...or to any other specific service/application. If something better comes along or Session goes through a process of "enshitification" (kinda like what Substack is going through at the moment), I will jump ship without looking back.
Here is another approach/solution I have come across recently and plan to explore further:
John Sneisen (@TrueEconomic) discusses the @OuterrnetMain, an alternative self-hosted decentralized internet that can’t be shut down. He also explains how the financial system is on edge and fears they may take us to war to reset the system. 🌐⛓️💥 pic.twitter.com/0F8x0mQtWt

Here are two more resources that are worth checking out, especially if you are YouTuber and are concerned for your future on that platform (and rightfully so I might add):

What if all of the above is not enough?
What is discussed below will unfortunately involve quite a bit of PAIN...but it will hurt a lot more if we DON'T do it!
What is discussed below may seem extreme to you but if we fail to stop the Digital ID locomotive, we may be left with no other choice unfortunately.
I introduce the idea here:

I gave an interview to Robyn from Courage is the Cure where I expanded further on this idea:
If all else FAILS...
What I am saying in the above interviews may sound extreme but hopefully you change your mind after you have a listen to this:
This is the interview the above clip is taken from:
Here is another short clip that is very pertinent right now:
And here is a look into our collective (very near) future if we fail to stop the enemy's relentless march towards their endgame:
What do we do in practical terms if "all else fails"?
Doc Malik does a good job in my opinion introducing the appropriate frame of mind in this piece he published on his Substack:

As you can probably see below, I am a 'bit' further down this road now:
Let me elaborate on two specific aspects that I believe can ACTUALLY move the needle
