Kathryn is an educator from New Zealand with 30 years experience and an unblemished record as a teacher, deputy principal and for the last 12 years, a principal of a Community of Learning serving over 3,000 students. She was terminated when the Covid-19 injectables became mandatory for education workers (as well as many others), despite holding a medical exemption.
At the time, she was leading a school in a high-needs community, where she and her team were driving meaningful direction and support for children and families facing significant social challenges. She had just completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership, but was not permitted to attend her graduation ceremony due to her refusal to be injected.
After losing her leadership role, and guided by her long-standing passion for supporting people with mental health challenges, she trained as a neurofeedback practitioner—a path that has since become deeply meaningful.
Providing evidence-based support for individuals with mental health and neuro-diverse needs has been an unexpected blessing to emerge from a time of profound personal grief and loss. This work now allows her to serve people in the ways she had always hoped during her years in education, when the need was great, but the resources and her time were limited.
Kathryn is now in a truly dire predicament after being blacklisted from working in education in NZ in any capacity and incurring substantial legal fees.

A crowdfunding campaign has been set up to help Kathryn (who is currently unemployed and without regular income) pay the fines that were imposed on her as well as the significant legal fees she has incurred.
What was discussed?
Kathryn outlined the nature of the Covid response in the education sector in New-Zealand before and after the rollout of the injectables and the circumstances of her being stood down and ultimately terminated from her role as school principal.
Kathryn has also discussed her experience under the mandates in this 2023 article in which she was referred to as "Principal X" due to her legal fight that was still underway at the time:

The article contained a litany of inaccuracies and even outright falsehoods and once you listen to this part of the conversation, and Kathryn's account of what has actually happened, you will no doubt understand very quickly why the Stuff article has no named author!
Kathryn's previous appearance on the podcast

Where to from here?
Other than helping Kathryn with her legal costs, it is worth pointing out that the current government in New-Zealand is up for re-election in November (just over two months from now).
Furthermore, the current Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Winston Peters is positioning himself as being pro-freedom and even anti-establishment by saying all the right words.

In addition to his criticism of the policy decisions made by the previous Labour government of Jacinda Ardern, Mr. Peters is speaking out against other policies of the current "conservative" government of which he is a very senior member.

New Zealand First understands and agrees with the intent of the law change - no one is more concerned and shares the anxiety that parents are feeling about this issue - but we will not be…
There is no better time than an upcoming election to DEMAND (not ask nicely!) that he does just that and Kathryn's matter is a perfect case study for Mr. Peters to PROVE that he is not just talk.
In Kathryn's case, this could be as simple as using the unique position Minister Peters and his New Zealand First party have within the current government to get the Education Minister Erica Stanford to intervene in the decision made by the Teaching Council of New Zealand to permanently suspend Kathryn, or at the very least waive the fines and legal costs imposed on her.
In addition to that, the people of New Zealand should contact the Teaching Council, and especially the members of its governing board, to voice their displeasure with how this highly skilled and widely respected educator, with three decades of exemplary service to her community (and who clearly still has a lot of passion for her work) has been mistreated....for no valid reason whatsoever!
