UK Column & the Alternative Media scene in the UK (and elsewhere)
Insiders Debi Evans & Sandi Adams share their personal experiences & thoughts
In this episode of the Actionable Truth Podcast I was joined by Debi Evans and Sandi Adams.
We discussed their personal experiences at long running alternative media outlet UK Column as well as the overall alternative media space in the UK and the current political situation there.
I think it is very important that @ukcolumn come clean about the EXACT nature of their association with Marcel Jahnke and whether the funding he provided did indeed come with ANY conditions in terms of editorial stance or even discussing publicly the nature of his involvement. https://t.co/PxAnlTKZ05 pic.twitter.com/Wbj2rwcudv

Hi Michael yes indeed this was the section, also a at the end of the film when Aman Jabbi speaks, warning about the rise of this technology in the west.

We've also brainstormed together a few ideas on how people can navigate the increasingly complex alternative media scene (both in the UK and elsewhere).

UK Column Presenters discussing Marcel Jahnke
June 13 Update: a page for Mr. Jahnke has been added to the UK Column website
Without much fanfare, UK column have added this page to their website:

The first capture by the wayback machine of the above page happened on June 13 which suggests that this page is indeed brand new.

Vox Populi & the connection with the Lotus Eaters and what appears to be as ardent support of Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain
Vox Populi used to be called The Aussie Wire and as the name suggests, was targetting primarily an Australian audience.
It was fronted by Topher Field as its lead presenter and rebranded to Vox Populi after Topher's departure.
The Aussie Wire (now Vox Populi) provided extensive coverage of the inaugural ARC conference and had an onsite studio on the conference floor.
ARC is run by Legatum and Marshall Wace. These are global hedge funds / vc firms whose websites proudly display their adherence to Agenda 2030 goals

The website of Vox Populi currently has no information at all on who is behind the outlet:

Neither does their Twitter profile:

There are various people who appear to work for the outlet on a per-assignment basis as freelancers.
One of them is Will Coleshill, founder of alternative media outlet Resistance GB:

He claims the Tories will protect the borders, exploit North Sea oil, and make up for past failings including the Boriswave.

The official Twitter account for Restore Britain reposts this Vox Populi segment:

Elon Musk is also a fan apparently (both of Coleshill's coverage & of Restore in general):

Mr. Coleshill also did some work in the past for UK Column. Here is one example:
One person who is showing publicly a direct association with Vox Populi is Jonathan Wong who also has his own "Digital Media Consultancy" & "Video production" company by the name of Wong Media , of which he is the sole director.
Other than Wong Media, Mr. Wong does not appear to be a director of any other UK company.

In this interview from April 2025 he gave to Nick Buckley, Mr. Wong confirmed his association with Vox Populi media:
I have just joined @RestoreBritain to save the UK. @RupertLowe10 https://t.co/S2i8cEhyl5
— Nick Buckley MBE (@NickBuckleyMBE) June 5, 2026
Mr. Wong also said in the above interview that prior to moving on to Vox Populi, he used to have a tech-related role at another UK outlet by the name of Lotus Eaters.

The footer of every page of the Lotus Eaters website has the following text:

When did @lotuseaters_com begin their formal association with @RestoreBritain_ and what is the nature of said association?
— Actionable Truth Media (@actionabletruth) May 23, 2026
Also, when was “guest contributor” for the outlet @Lewis_Brackpool appointed as “Director of Investigations at Restore Britain” and what does that entail? https://t.co/bVnv8o1YKw pic.twitter.com/e2OoFUgfiS

The sole director of Lotus Eater Media (the entity behind Lotus Eaters) is Carl Benjamin who founded the outlet back in 2019:

One of the guest contributors to Lotus Eaters is Lewis Brackpool who is described as:
an independent journalist, reporter and commentator whose main focus is on political discussions, cultural topics and agenda-based analysis. Having reported on many protests and significant political events such as the anti-lockdown marches, the Dutch farmer's revolt and the Davos elitists, Lewis' main content is centred around the agendas from influential Non-governmental organisations, cultural changes in the West and interviews with fascinating people.
As of the time of publication, Mr. Brackpool describes himself on his own Twitter profile as:

Advance UK is deregistering as a political party because the right-hand side of British politics has become dangerously confused. Response from UK Column
Initial response published on May 30, 2026
The below rebuttal was published and co-signed by UK Column directors Brian Gerrish, Mike Robinson and Charles Malet:

I will leave it to you to read the above response and decide for yourself what you make of it but there were two matters which I felt were not addressed in it so I asked UK Colum Co-founder, Director and Co-Owner Mike Robinson 2 follow-up questions:
To the best of your knowledge as @ukcolumn director, was ANY presenter told by ANYONE (producers or anyone else) to tone down criticism of China or avoid covering any topics (e.g Chinese police presence on UK soul) because it will "upset the investor"?
— Actionable Truth Media (@actionabletruth) May 30, 2026
Second question:
— Actionable Truth Media (@actionabletruth) May 30, 2026
Did the financial support from Mr. Jahnke come on the condition that his involvement remains confidential or were there ANY other strings beyond the standard conditions of a shareholder loan?
When (and if) Mr. Robinson provides a response to any of the above, I will add it here.
I'd also like to add the following assessment of the interview I did, as well as the response from UK Column outlined above, by the highly respected (by me at least) independent investigative journalist, author and former contributor to UK Column Iain Davis:

I also take onboard any critique by Mr. Davis directed at me as he has been doing this type of work for much longer than I have and as I said already, is highly respected for it (and rightfully so in my personal opinion).
UK Column unleash Ad Hominem attacks against me
The attempt at rebuttal from UK Column discussed above was published on Saturday (May 30).
The following Monday (June 1), further response was provided by UK Column presenters and co-founders Brian Gerrish and Mike Robinson during their news bulletin:

I will leave it to you to make your own judgement on the above but in my mind, this is a very pertinent example of why the framework proposed by David A. Hughes is so on point:

If you haven't read it yet, I strongly recommend you do:

Here is the response I left as a comment to the video of the news bulletin on the UK Column YouTube channel:

This was my response on Twitter/X:
Thank you for publishing this Iain and I take onboard any critique directed at me.

For the avoidance of doubt: neither I nor @DebiEvansMatron or @sandiadams2030 had any intention to hurt @ukcolumn and we are NOT working on behalf of ANY intelligence service of ANY nation. https://t.co/b3KM3iFiHi
Hi @briangukc @mikeukc @ukcolumn :
— Actionable Truth Media (@actionabletruth) June 3, 2026
Can you please provide a single proof of the assertion made here that I was "particularly aggressive" towards @VanessaBeeley in the past due to the topics she covers.
Just ONE will do. I'll wait.
Also, I suggest you check your web contact form. pic.twitter.com/jzMTLCgac6
And this was my response to yet another attempt to continue this clear effort (to me at least) of Ad Hominem and Character Assasination:
You clearly haven't read this piece which preceded the interview which I linked to from the show notes AND mentioned at the very start of my interview. Would @ukcolumn have used a different tactic if someone with a different background did the interview? https://t.co/rEF7WDJSmJ
— Actionable Truth Media (@actionabletruth) June 2, 2026
Further response by Charles Malet
On June 8, Akita Media (trading as UK Column) director and co-owner Charles Malet published the following response to the specific allegations, in the context of the farmers protest, that were made towards him during this interview by Sandi Adams:

Here is the response from Sandi Adams I was asked to publish in response to the above:
Instead of saying that 'Malet was working agents of controlled opposition', I should have said: "in both my and the farmers opinion, Malet appeared wittingly or unwittingly, to be working with agents of controlled opposition"
